The most often asked question to Authors

When is the next book coming out is the question most poised to authors who just released their book. While it is flattering, it also is scary! Authors like myself have poured their entire soul and well being into these pages for people to possibly tear apart or eat up!

And now you want us to turn around and do it again!

Unless you have a really good sugar daddy or mama- not a lot of us authors have time or the finances to quickly produce another masterpiece in a short amount of time and yet we try.

We try to keep up with the demand because it is necessary to stay relevant in the book world and because we love being the orchestrator of chaos in literary worlds because the real world is truly a hellscape these days.

Face it, you get one week or maybe month that is yours to celebrate your debut and then the next one is quite literally the same day as yours or following shortly after and you want to be supportive and encourage people to read other Indie authors but there is that niggle of worry and doubt that crowds your thoughts.

“They are going to like their book more than mine.”

It’s kinda like when you ask your parents who their favorite child is, they always say they don’t have favorites but they do.

They definitely do.

So my advice to writers is to be you. Enjoy what you write, eat up all the attention, hype up your friends who are authors too, and don’t lose your why for writing. People will read your work because they are drawn to the story. Give yourself grace and write because the voices in your head won’t stop until you share their stories in the time they want them too.
